Bajie Business Purchase

About this project

Bajie Business Purchase (BBP) is a specialized service offered by Bajie Company, catering to the needs of business. BBP has established partnerships with local Chinese government entities in several cities, including Chongqing, Xinjiang, and Heilongjiang.

BBP operates as a digital platform that facilitates the bidding process for businesses and institutions affiliated with the Chinese government, such as public universities and bureaus. These entities can publish service-related bids on the platform, inviting companies with relevant certifications to submit their bids.

One of the key features of BBP is its commitment to transparency and digitization. It ensures that every bidding process is transparent, allowing government officers log in, tracking the progress and details of each bid through the platform. By digitizing the entire process, BBP streamlines and enhances efficiency, making it easier for businesses and institutions to engage in procurement activities.

Challenges to the team

When I joined this team, the focus was on planning for the implementation of Product Standardize 2.0. The product itself had been initially built in 2017 and had undergone continuous improvements, resulting in increased adoption by various city councils. The product had already achieved a level of standardization known as Standardize 1.0 about a year before my arrival.

However, the previous standardization efforts had some limitations, particularly regarding the bidding process involving Service Requirers and Service Suppliers. The process lacked specificity, and there were insufficient details provided for classifying services. This lack of clarity made it challenging for both parties to effectively engage in the bidding process.

My actions

Within a span of two days, I immersed myself in the product by act as the Service Requirer, Service Suppliers, and Testing Staff to use our product. This allowed me to gain familiarity with their respective user journeys and understand their steps in the deals.

I also delved into the history of the product, reviewing the progress made in previous years. Notably, the product had successfully collaborated with three main city councils, establishing a solid partnership with each of them. Moreover, marketing team was revealed that two additional city councils were set to join the collaboration in the upcoming year (2022).

Furthermore, I need to learned that the idea and leadership behind the development of Standardize 2.0 had been spearheaded by one of the product managers within our team. This indicated a proactive approach towards improving the product and meeting the evolving needs of users and partner organizations.
